I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend francisco and his family on a trip to the city.. I love the big apple everything about it traffic, streetvendors, and different cultures all blended into on melting pot! living life to its fullest, I also enjoyed the fact that my friends had a great time I have been telling them about the city and all of its unique finds shopping (5th ave) and great eateries... They braved the city along with me by taxi, subway and walking.. The city is so electric and just seems to be so busy with alot of interest to me. Photography and me and NYC... there can never be a dull moment..

Happy belated New years to all, I have been distant in blogging to sum it up I have been out of the country on a shooting assignment in which I will post images from a lovely bride and groom I shot, I've starting spending more time working out with a trainer trying to stay healthy with the hopes of living a longer life. There's been ups and downs but I have managed to stay on top somehow!! I plan to post some imagery from my journey and let you all see what I have been up to lately but until I finish with processing and editing of some images I will post em but here's dayvon, my favorite godson in the whole wide world! You know we all complain of missing out on something not having this nor that I must admit I have been there before as age approaches me and I get wiser some things are not really necessary like that new pair of shoes that crisp white shirt or that cool hoodie with the torn logo.. You know we have allot to be thankful for because there are people in less fortunate situations than we are. I want to give thanks to my family. My clients for being patient and working with me and my schedule, although it has been tough this year with the loss of two family members. Thanksgiving is a time to be happy spend time with family catch up with old friends and celebrating life. I know its been a while since I have kept up with blogging but I thought Id let you see what I have been up to visually so enjoy and I will be back soon.

What a busy weekend for me, trying to do my part on the MHAM, Art on the run, juggling a session and working on editing, But that is how life can be at times very rushed and hectic could you ever imagine not having anything at all to do? ha ha.. there is always something that needs to be done! With fall approaching and the holiday's which I'm not ready for will be here in no time flat! Well the weekend is over and it was so nice to see people out enjoying the sunshine mowing grass cleaning,for some reason it felt like a spring day all over once again.. very unusual weather for August, but I will not complain at all, I had a chance to catch up with two of my favorite friends Francisco and Yolanda, I always seem to have a goodtime hanging out with the pair. I know its been a while since Ive updated this blog I'm sorry for not being a good blogger nor writer too! Let's see I have been in Chicago again for a visit and there to get some great shots also hung out with a favorite photographer friend of mines. Yeah summers creeping on by can you believe Aug is here? and in a few weeks arrives Sept. I have been shooting off and on working allot just covered a county fair here in Poplar Bluff it was actually nice, seeing the people from the community get together compete in cook offs, barrel racing and other fun activities. I think that is what makes the summertime fun people getting out meeting up at events and also networking! I have a few newbies I'm posting so enjoy and I will not keep you all waiting until next time be safe and have a great life!

I had the pleasure of photographing a great couple which are very intelligent, Maurice Moss, law graduate, and his fiancee Christa Barber, I can remember working at Hibbett sports when Maurice actually came in and during the summer and we talked about his plans for college and him going off to school to become a attorney well he did it!! I bet his parents are really proud of his accomplishments and hard work.. Well he knew i was into to photography back then and told him that I wanted to eventually pursue my career further as a photographer and several years later here i am and here he is.. Christa his soon to be wife is a kind super energetic type young lady that anyone would love to have in her company. I spent a hot evening photographing the two there were so many great photographs to choose from I'm still editing from the session.. they also had great things to say about my imagery. enjoy!

We are so consumed with music choices in life every since I can remember as a child I grew up listening to The Jackson 5. I can remember my mother having 45s and LP's of the Jackson's then came Michael Jackson the solo artist the star the guy who could really perform magic on stage with his power moves and his moonwalk. I was at work finished with my work and decided to check my email as usual. Happened to stumble across MJ being rushed to the UCLA medical center, I figured oh, well just exhaustion. But when the rumors came across blogs and other media outlets, I immediately went back in time thinking of all the songs he made and how we all at one time wanted to be like MJ in one way or the other. I remember being a child in Chicago and my relatives would pretend to be the J5. It was cool, MJ moved us and inspired us in so many ways with his soothing sounds and great dance moves, white glove penny loafers and for us to wanna be like "Mike". My prayers go up for the family he will be missed dearly by the world and his followers in my own words MJ stood for PEACE & Love. May u RIP MJ.

The MHAM, black and white party was a great event, I'm on the friends board of the art museum I suggested over a year ago that we have a white and black themed event, and we finally put the plans together and went for it. Thanks to Libby and Geri, board members they had some of the coolest designs for the event and I also decided to shoot black and white images of party goers in the best black and white attire. That night we displayed the new sculpture garden plans to show party attendants what they were supporting and they loved it!! I thought I would post a few images from that great event enjoy..

My trip to Morton was a pretty good experience in selling the experience! Jed and Vicki were very kind to answer all questions that a photographer could ask. We had two days of learning more about the business the work flow techniques that they use in daily business from beginning to end! I enjoyed meeting other photographers and talking with them about their businesses and got tips for growth. I really think Morton is a pretty neat little town full of friendly people I felt welcomed when I arrived when I went to Vgallery I was so impressed with all of the fine photographs that I was surrounded by and photographs of vicki's travels. I thought Id post a few from the workshop and from the Chicago visit. I actually managed to grab a few good ones of my mom and I also photographed Nadia McCall a very petite young lady who's currently auditioning for Next Top Model I photographed Nadia last year during my visit to Chicago.

I will soon be attending Vgallery's (www.vgallery.net) selling the experience workshop! Its going to be a blast Jed and his wife Vicki Taufer have been in the photography business for about ten years Im so blessed to be able to attend this event, afterwards I will head to Chicago to spend a few days visiting my mom and shooting! I have a session pending in Chicago. Here's a recent photo of a friend I just met, part owner of the new ziggie's cafe here in bluff its a great place to eat the food is really good and they have excellent service. My favorite happens to be the house pasta, you need to try it when you visit!! The also serve breakfast all day! well Tony Balazi and I hung out one evening I was curious to learn about his Albanian culture and how they live. I grabbed a shot of him prepping for a session. Sorry I haven't been up to posting much, I'm trying to recover from a recent lost, Unfortunately I experienced a break in at my home/studio, the thieves has taken all of my computers and external hard drive, with jewelry and clothing. Wow what a fantastic evening of shooting capturing vintage memories for Blane Whylie! Blane is familiar with me and shooting photographs! Katie his mom had the coolest Idea to have him wear the exact same suit jacket that his father was photographed in 50 years ago! believe it or not his grandmother had the jacket and bow tie as you notice on the photograph.Well I got some really cool shots of the little one wearing his father's suit jacket who knows maybe Blane will some day be able to let his son wear the jacket cool family tradition hmm!! What a day this has been one of the most inspirational days of my life being able to shoot in Times Square shoot models a bride and groom. I actually dig New York and everything about this place. The fast paced life is amazing I went for a run the other morning while the city's heart was beating!! This place really rocks I will be back and would consider living here!!! Well it looks like I have finally made it to the big apple for some serious networking among the photogs in the industry I was blessed to be able to attend east meets west a very exclusive but small training session among one of the top Photogs in the US , Gene Higa www.genehiga.net But let me back track to the STL, its a tradition that I photograph my good friend/barber, Ramone Boyd and his family, We started early on the Christmas card project which reminds me for any of you that will be interested in booking for the christmas season please contact me asap so that we can get the cards back to send out around the 12th of Decemeber due to the lab running behind due the the increase of orders at this time of the year.. This senior came to me knowing what he wanted! Senior Class President Brett Russell is a very talented guy, I remember seeing him act live on stage during the stage company's premier of CHICAGO.. Well we finally got together and managed to get his photographs shot. I knew that this had to be a unique shoot because he is a unique individual, we were riding to a location and all of a sudden he starts singin along with a popular rap and r&b song! I have alot of images from LA, and random people being celebs! My trip went well as planned. I have some great ideas that I am working on But while driving after my flight which went from, Burbank, to Phoenix, to Chicago! 2 Major cities in one day I figured I needed something good to see so while driving out of STL which was my final and original destination before the flights got overbooked!! I had to stop and look at the sky which reminded me so much of out west I immediately pulled my tired self over and got this killer shot for my mom's new place in chicago anytime she wants to think about being closer to home all she has to do is take a look at this. The flight was good, the weather is great as usual, although I am suffering from a major sinus, allergy something!!! Well here's some of the fantastic folks i met and had lunch with at Robert Evans studio. Robert was lucky enough to have shot some of hollywood's A list celebs, such as Brad and Jen, Katie and Tom!! I am honored to be in such great company. Been very busy working on projects and a new web site which should be up and running in the next 2 weeks just haven't had the time to finish up with the site. I thought id post a few I recently got the chance to spend some time with my cousin Carlando's baby boy Davon, he's a cool little baby he loves to get into stuff!! I also photographed Alex West, we had a good time shooting as she sang Usher's in the club!!

My aunt and uncle were in town this past weekend for a visit its always great to see them. They moved to Chicago from here several years ago. I always enjoy listening to my uncle dave's "June" words of wisdom. I explained to him how I have been getting a generous amount of blessings from the people here in PB. And how I could never imagine getting some of the jobs that I have been getting well he did let me know exactly that it was all in god's hands and in part of his plan. I am thankful to have a uncle to be behind me in making my dream come true as a photographer. He also told me the best is yet to come as long as I put god first and include him in all of my plans. I wanted to share this with anyone out there that has a goal in life put god in it and he will see you through. well heres a photo I managed to get of him enjoy and more to come!!

STL Weekend wrap up

This past weekend will be one I will not ever forget when it comes to my boy DJ Aj. (Alex Tyler) I was in the parade The Annie Malone "May Day" parade. It was alot of fun to see some familar faces I rode on the 100.3 the beat float with the artist, such as Country Cane, Teyana Taylor, One Chance, which is Usher's project. They have a single out now "You Cant" ft. Yung Joc. After the parade they kicked it off with the official concert, which featured Chingy, Murphy Lee, Sean Garrett, and Twista I also spoke with Jibb's stlouis artist that had the airwaves by storm last year with his hit "Chain hang low". I managed to get some good shots of the crowd and alot of backstage photographs so I hope you enjoy em! OH and be on the look out for Jibb's new cd coming soon.

The pre party bash was hosted by Paula and Slug Hefner, at West Bluff, the light interiors of this house made perfect backdrops for any photograph, although I managed to sell several pkgs. I also managed to shoot alot of candids that I thought was deserving to be posted. My weekend has been busy. This morning and afternoon I had several booked for The Sacred Heart Catholic Church first communion, which ran very smooth. Well here's to a good wknd rap up. Jeremy Mitchell and his aunt Thelma, have been very close friends of the family for quite sometime. This is my grandmother's pet!! She always look forward to having him over for dinner and of course her excellent breakfast!! Nathan, has admired my works for quite sometime he never fails to drop by when he is home from Los Angeles, he was recently in for a visit. He graduated in 1985 from Sr. High any of you might remember he played basketball ran track, and football. I met
Rob Lacy, last year during the prom where he built the stairway along with other high school teens for the 'Titanic" themed prom. He told me he was a good craftsman. He plans to build me some posing cubes . So his senior year has arrived and Im going to shoot graduation announcement photographs for he and a few other seniors (will post them all) But I managed to grab a shot of him while we discussed his custom announcements! My trip to Chicago was pretty interesting and rushed! I wish I had more time to see all of my family hang out and do the normal things but i managed to attend a seminar in Oakbrook for photographers that I had initially planned to do. I learned some tips hung out with one of my fellow photographer friends Flint Chaney I assisted Flint on a job at a coffee house which was really cool! My mom didn't feel well due to a bad cold so no pics of her! I also had a session with one of my friends and his son. Well I thought Id post some from Chicago here we go..

You, know how you just seem to like this and that? Well that's what I have done with some of my imagery of all times. This seems to take me back and let me think of when and where I shot this what song was I enjoying etc. This project took me quite sometime to work on and if there's anyone that isnt on the storyboard dont be mad please!!! I had to have help from several friends to do the final process of me adding and subtracting photographs.. doesn't mean that they were not good images, these just seem to tell a story.. enjoy!

Monday afternoon was kind of interesting it started out as me preparing to paint my office space in the studio, my friend Darren and his girlfriend came by to help me because I'm not good with painting at all. So therefore before starting out the paint job I looked over at he and his girlfriend and decided to shoot a few shots.. I ended up playing on the computer and doing a little painting couldn't really concentrate on the paint due to the thoughts of those great pics Id shot of them so me and his girl went to the mac and went to work on the imagery, looking enhancing and chose several these are the best photographs to me.. They say A lot but I gotta go and take a look at my newly painted office space in which I will post some images of when I finish the decorating process of hanging some cool photographs on the walls! MDA Gala 2008 Bloodworth house.

What a monday after a lengthy weekend of work and charity work, I just got finished edting and cleaning up some photography from this past wknd's MDA Gala which was held at the Bloodworth house here's one of my favorite photographs of some of the attendees that were present at Saturday night's event. I actually donated time and shot some group photographs and individuals of everyone decked out in evening wear and tuxedo's for the event. Half of my proceeds went to the MDA. Close friends, family and fun. I had a pretty good time in Memphis this past weekend went down for a party. Shawnta Ellison and her son Jayson entertained me with laughter good food and all the hot spots in Mtown, its been nearly two years or so since the Saturday morning she and Jayson moved to Memphis they seem to be adjusting well to the Southern, lifestyle. Shawnta is has a pretty good job and shes in school finishing up on her masters. She and Jayson were in my show at the museum a year ago during Black History Month at the MHAM. I just thought Id show off some a photograph or two, gosh Jayson is getting so tall, and he thinks he will be the next Michael Jordan of Memphis!!!! He plays on his high school basketball team.

One thing that I can say is that Dr. Riffle and his wife really know how to entertain, I went to photograph several of the children for the sweetheart dance, They had a pre-party with lots of snacks and beverages the home made the perfect backdrop for some of the most beautiful photographs ever! Vee's favorite song at the moment is "Feedback" from Janet Jackson, its a pretty hot club banger that has been burning the airwaves for the last month! from her upcoming CD tittled "Discipline" due to be released in Feb. Time is ticking away for those seniors who haven't gotten their photos and also yearbook photograph as well. Everyone meet Matt Chatman a bright and hip senior, who creates his own fuel! If you read our daily newspaper we at the DAR recently did a story on this guy and how he creates his own biodiesel fuel for his pick up truck! It was a very interesting story I had the pleasure of going to his house and shooting the photograph for work . I remembered he was a Sr. so therfore I gave him a business card for my freelance work and what do you know he and his family headed to the studio for a few shots and then it was Matt and I off shooting on various locations here in Bluff I decided to post these shots he had some really good shots. I will post one of his family as well but for now enjoy Matt.

In 30 degree weather! doing a series of test shots I sort of dug this photograph I have more to post this was one of my favorites so far. Although I dont look cold!!
