Black History at its best

Today was a very interesting day for me, went to church and seen one of the family's friends shirley (magness) Cheeks, well she was in town with her husband Dr. Carl Cheeks a dentist in the Chicago area. His dad Garland, was born in 1920 moved away from here in 1938, went to the military, served his time and relocated to chicago afterwards to work at the post office. He gave me alot of history on Poplar Bluff and how his team was one of the first to go state in basketball. While he attended Wheatley School. His winning team photograph is at the Poplar Bluff museum located on Main Street. Mr. Cheeks now resides in California, and belive it or not, this fellow thats full of spunk!! told me that he frequently plays golf and also attends a spanish class two times a week! I hope when I become his age if the lord allows me to live to see it I hope that I can get around as well as he does and still be able to have peace of mind and a great spirit as he does!

Brent Wagner

I can actually say that this was a pretty good shoot it went from, Ducks Unlimited to Hollister!Everyone meet brent wagner a sr. at PBHS. We shot a bunch of pics at his place then to my studio and more location shots. These are a few of my favorite photographs of Brent. A special thanks to his friends for helping me with lighting and also keeping brent company!

Saturday, evening after working at the DAR, a friend and I were planning to have dinner and at Los Margarita's and what do you know!! here's Whythia Hefner, one of the coolest.. most trendiest, women around here in Poplar Bluff, you could almost call her the Domestic Diva, around here!!! she asked if I would take a few photographs for a friends birthday party by the name of Tom Green, So i did it!! I ended up having a great time dancing and starting a soul train line in the restaurant while dancing to some fresh rap lyrics !!! I was worried at first I didn't wanna seem like the party crasher but I was actually told that "We needed you and your friend here!" here are a few pics from the event... enjoy.

Mark Crews class of 2008 & My mother

My mom (Bettye Matthews) is always willing to be one of my subjects for photographic testing etc. I enjoy shooting her photographs under diffrent lighting situations well here is one of my favorites enjoy. Also I thought I would post another sr. Mark Crews he was quite a blast to work with. He and his mother Pam, one of my class mates came to the studio, he was quiet in the beginning I put a little crunk music in the stero and there he went leanin!! and rockin!!!
I knew it was time to capture the moment!!!!This is one of my favorite scenes of California I had a great time at the beach in Santa Monica, I caught the sun setting actually I will post that photograph later but for now enjoy the beautiful view and palm trees.

Los Angeles

I was recently away on vacation in Los Angeles I had a pretty great time seen some family good friends and shot alot of photographs. I just so happened to have lucked up on this photograph of Shemar Moore working on the set of Criminal Minds. Not that I am a stalker of celeb photography but sometimes when the opportunity is available you must fire and shoot... I also photographed a Quinceanera for my friend Francisco Esquivel's niece here's a pic I will add more as I have time between newspaper photographs and balancing an act of trying to get organized!!! enjoy.
